I Should Clean My Closet More Often...

I found two items whose existence had escaped my memory

Floral romper
I bought this romper in January. It's funny because I'm actually not keen on floral rompers. If it looks like a little floral dress, why not just buy a floral dress? Which is precisely what I thought it was when I spotted this little number in...yea you guessed it...Goodwill. I don't like knocking down something without first trying it out though (except for UGGS) so it ended up coming home with me.It's actually not that bad. And it really fits me quite nice. I especially love the criss cross detail in the back.

is it at least noticeable? I hope so, I'm still trying to figure out how to work the new camera. It's not a DSRL. If I would have saved for another two weeks or so I probably could have mustered enough to buy a Nikon D40 but I don't think I'm fully ready to delve into the realm of SRL cameras so I bought a Nikon P80 to familiarize myself with aperture, shutter, etc.

"Mall Security" t-shirt
from my hot topic days back in high school

it instantly reminded me of this picture from FacehunterIf only it were warm enough to go out like this...it's been rainy and in the 50s all week. Hopefully the weather clears up for Japan day which takes place the day before my summer classes start :groan:

A DYI of Sorts

Since I'm saving up for my camera I've been trying to economize big time. I seriously only spent about $3 last week. I admit, I almost caved in and bought some new necklaces but decided I could make some at home. Here's how:

I did a little perusing in my jewelry box and dug up a few of my favorite brooches

then I took the chain of another necklace, and ta-da three new necklaces,

I think my favorite one is the anchor one. Totally not groundbreaking but worth trying if you're in need of a quick necklace fix.

P.S- Today was the last day of classes (hoorah).

Somebody Put me Back in School

A better look at the blazer I posted about a few entries ago

Kawaii likes to get in all my shots, QT (my other cat) not so much

as well as a look at one of my newest purchases. I call it the fug bag, because it's so fantastically ugly. It makes me look like I'm carrying around snuffy's eyelashes on my side. You guys remember snuffy from Sesame Street don't you?he had the biggest eyelashes ever!
And my top/dress was actually my former boyfriend's wifebeater. It's so long it fits me like a mini dress/tunic though so I'm not completely tregging it.

Also

I already wear contacts but I've been contemplating the possibility of color contacts. Not like blue or some other color that's blatantly not my natural one but possibly a honey color. My mom has honey colored eyes and I've always been mad her genes were on the recessive side when it came to eye color. Grey would be fun to try for a night out; my favorite book when I was 10 was:
Maybe if I had Grey eyes my toast would make itself as well. Ha I wish. Keep in mind that'd it just be for fun, I like the black vortexes (not really black but you get the gist) I have for eyes.

By the way, I started using photobucket for my pictures instead of blogger, you could always right click and click on "view image" if you want to see a bigger version though.

The Girl Behind The Blog

Tags!

The Stylish Wanderer, Key and The Wandering Alchemist have tagged me

5 things found in my bookbag:
1. If it's on Mondays and Thursday I have my red notebook (used for my survey of Eng Lit class and Abnormal Psych), if it's Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday I have my green notebook (used for my Expository Writing class and World Music).
2. Black Bic Pens, and only black ones. I used to color coordinate my subjects, blue pens for some subjects, black for others but now I kind of hate blue pens.
3. Some type of half eaten or left over snack I most likely grabbed on the run, like an apple or a yogurt bottle...sometimes I forget I have these aforementioned snacks in my book bag and they'll sit there for weeks...yea gross I know.
4. Various gum pieces that fell out of their gum packet and are just floating in my bag, unwrapped and next to my loose change...gross
5. I sometimes carry a lint roller. With two cats a lint roller is a must when I'm wearing dark colors.

5 things found in my purse:
I answered a similar tag pertaining to just this here

5 favorite things in my room:
I'll go through this one with pictures (I'm using the old Samsung while I get a new one, the picture quality isn't as great but with a little editing they're okay)
1.

I keep all my smaller/less used handbags in a corner of my room. Some of them like the ones on the top shelf still have their goodwill tags ho hum. They're beautiful, with the cutest latch closures and so tiny, I just haven't found the right occasion or outfit for them. You might also recognize the one in the second shelf? Such a great little bag.
2.

My set of Chinese boxes

inside:
the smallest box holds nailpolish and all things associated with nail care, the second box holds hair clips and the third box holds sunglasses.
3.

my dolphin collection, well it's not a collection anymore. I used to have one when I was younger, but when I moved about three years ago I only kept this set. They were a gift from my uncle who lives in Oaxaca, Mexico. Like the Chinese boxes they too vary in size. The smallest one, all the way at the end is probably half the size of my pinky.
4.

two frames that hang on my wall

5. The big magnetic board behind my bed. The one pictured in my header.

5 things I've always wanted to do
how about 5 things I used to want instead?

1. When I was four, I told my teacher I wanted to be a doctor...a doll doctor. Little did I know those actually exist

doll hospital near my school

2. As I got older I also wanted to be an interior designer and a CSI agent, sometimes I still think it'd be cool to be a CSI agent actually, except I'm horrible at science and math.
3. In high school I wanted purple hair. The closest I got to this was plum, it was hardly noticeable though. At one point I also wanted hair like X-men's Rogue, you know, a platinum blonde/almost white streak in the front so I bleached my hair...it turned out orange. Ack!
4. I also wanted a Monroe piercing at one point.
5. I wanted to grow taller...alas nature had other plans for me.

5 things I am currently into

1. Boy Blazers
2. Chocolate NesQuik (I'll go through periods when I'm "into" particular beverages and I find myself craving that one drink constantly)
3. Messy hair buns
4.Mario Party for the DS...ah yea I'm a wee bit of a dork

5 impressions of The Stylish Wanderer

1.She takes pretty pictures in the park
2. She has a great antique camera that I totally want
3. We like the same scene from Cinderalla
4. We agree that 70s clothes are great for the summer
5. She's as sweet as a French bonbon =]

and now for the second tag, 6 quirks about me
1. I volunteer as a Plumber sometimes. I do.
2. I sleep with one eye open, like a cat, perhaps that explains why I love them so much? But seriously I do. My former boyfriend pointed that out when we were taking a nap once. Well I was taking the nap...he was staring at me sleep. I was like nuah and asked my sister if it was true, since we share a room and she's probably seen me sleep before. Apparently it's true and apparently its quite creepy.
3. I once had a pet crab.
4. I mentioned before that I had a weird name. Well, I share my name with a famous haute couture designer...sorta. Wanna take a stab at figuring it out?
5. First thing I notice in guys? Their hands. I really dislike long spindly fingers and slender hands on guys.
6.I never get 8 hours of sleep...ever. I get five at most. It's a really horrible habit.

In Mourning

My camera, this time my Olympus camera, has died. It's kapoot...completely. And I'm probably completely to blame. I was attempting to take pictures in the backyard, got tired, went in and must have left my camera laying underneath my jean jacket because when I lifted up my jacket, my camera came tumbling down to the floor. Usually my camera can take a spill but this time it was still on and the lens was still out; due to the impact the lens got stuck. When I tried to fix it I ended up smashing it again. I could send it to get fixed but I have an inkling it's going to cost more to get it fixed than to buy a new one. Ugh ugh! Getting enough money to buy a camera means not spending any money the following two weeks. I'm pissed.

The last photos I took with my Olympus

I have some tags to get to, I'll be getting to those in the next posts since I'm without camera therefore without outfit pictures.

Girl Crushing

It's technically May already and I really should be writing for Lit class or sleeping since I haven't gotten much of that lately and my body is screaming for me to stop with my bad unhealthy habits but I can't go another day without posting the girl of the month (for April)

This month's girl of the month is another blogger, whose lovely blog I stumbled upon thanks to one of Couture Salope's entries, and seriously her blog is A+mazing (yes, with an A+!)

It's Underbaraclara
(click click the pic to go to her blog)
and click to view previous entries in her old blog here

Sadly, I feel blogging will be scarce until next week, possibly till Tuesday because I have a couple of papers to write for Monday (two more weeks till the semester ends, that's what I keep telling myself).
